ABOUT

- Aurélie Poles

Exploring movement has always been a part of Aurélie's life. As a former professional dancer and yoga teacher for almost 10 years, her greatest asset remains her anatomical knowledge of the human body.

Her experience,
in a few words...

Aurélie begins her career as a yoga teacher in London studios while still a professional dancer. When she leaves England after 10 years to move back to Bordeaux, she gets on her bike and starts roaming around from studio to studio, also teaching private and corporate classes for several years. At the same time, she begins hosting retreats and 200-hour teacher trainings in France and Bali. She then decides to pack her bags and heads to Australia. During a 2 year trip there, she has the privilege of living from her passion and continues teaching for some of the biggest studios in Melbourne and on the East Coast. New Zealand being just around the corner, she continues her adventure as head teacher for 200h teacher trainings.

Having grown from all her experiences, she then decides to return to France.

What makes her teaching modern?

Her honest and uncomplicated teaching is modern and creative, yet firmly rooted in tradition. Her dynamic classes combine fluidity and breath with strengthening and a functional approach to yoga. She adjusts and modifies according to each individual's need to avoid injuries. According to her, asana practice is not limited to what happens on the mat. It's a tool for developing the awareness of body and mind for healthy, effective daily movements.

What values does she wish to share?

Enjoying your practice without taking yourself too seriously; lightness and laughter in the effort, self-confidence and self-respect.
